50% Face Value
All Forever Stamps, including First-Class Forever, Global Forever, 2 Ounce and 3 Ounce Forever stamps.
40% Face Value
All non-Forever stamps over the current First-Class rate, including unused vintage stamps issued after 1930.
30% Face Value
All non-Forever stamps under the current First-Class rate, including unused vintage stamps issued after 1930.

How to Sell Your Unused Stamps
Step 1: Print Our Packing Slip
Print our Packing Slip and fill it out completely. It tells us who you are and how you want to be paid.
Step 2: Package and Ship Your Stamps
Package your stamps securely so they cannot shift or take on water damage in transit, and include your Packing Slip. We need it to process your order. We strongly suggest a shipping method with a tracking number, because without one we may be unable to confirm that your stamps reached us.
Step 3: Get Paid
Once your postage arrives, we send you a Purchase Offer so you know exactly what you will be paid before you commit to anything. You can accept it or decline it. If you accept, payment is issued within 3 business days.
Where Can You Sell Unused Stamps?
There are really only three routes, and they suit different situations. If you are wondering whether USPS will take them back, see can you return stamps to the Post Office?
- The Post Office. USPS does not buy back or refund unused stamps from the public. If you walk in with leftover postage, you will be told to keep using it.
- Selling them yourself. Online marketplaces and auction sites let you list stamps, but you handle the listing, the buyer, the shipping and the fees, and payment only arrives if and when someone buys.
- A postage buyer. We buy the stamps outright. You ship them once, you get a firm Purchase Offer, and you are paid within 3 business days of accepting it.

We also inspect every stamp we receive for authenticity. There is a large volume of counterfeit Forever stamps circulating on websites, eBay and Amazon, and if you bought Forever stamps at a steep discount there is a real chance they are not genuine. If we cannot authenticate what you send, we will tell you and offer to send the stamps back.
Common Questions
Can you sell stamps back to the Post Office?
No. USPS does not buy back unused postage from the public and does not issue refunds for stamps you decided not to use. That is the gap we fill.
How much are my unused stamps worth?
Your refund is a percentage of face value, which is the postage value printed on the stamp or, for Forever stamps, the current First-Class rate. Forever stamps pay 50% of face value, non-Forever stamps pay 40% or 30% depending on their denomination. Our rates page has a chart for stamps with no number printed on them.
Do the stamps have to be new?
They have to be unused. Age is not a problem. We accept unused U.S. postage regardless of how old it is, including unused vintage stamps issued after 1930. Used, cancelled, torn or stuck-down stamps cannot be refunded.
How long does payment take?
Payment is issued within 3 business days of you accepting your Purchase Offer.
